Food Pantry Distribution Support
Overview //
Help us help those with food insecurities by working in our food pantry. Help distribute food, stock our pantry shelves and help keep our shelves organized. You will love the people you work with and those you have the privilege to serve. The pantry is open Monday through Thursday from 9:30am until 2:30pm. Volunteers sign up for the same 3 hour shift each week.

Apartment Decorator
Volunteers are needed to transform an apartment into a home for a family moving from a shelter to St. Margaret of Cortona Transitional Residences in Woodbridge, VA. New residents move into their apartments with donated furniture, new beds, household and kitchen items, towels, bedding, etc. and we need your help decorating and putting the apartments together. This may include making up beds, hanging art, and putting away dishes, pots and pans, and glasses in the kitchen. Help our residents move out of poverty and achieve their potential.

Case Support Volunteers
Case Support Volunteers are needed to work with staff to help our residents achieve specific objectives that might be challenging for them. These might include helping with time management, organization, homemaking skills, finding easy and healthy recipes, etc.
Childcare/Activity Supervisors
Volunteers are needed to lead structured activities for the Children's Program on Wednesday nights from 6:45 - 8:00pm while their parents are attending Life Skills Classes. Children are divided into two age groups: 1-5 year olds and 6-12 year olds. Volunteers must be 18 years old, or 16 if accompanied by a parent. Volunteers must also complete a background check and diocesan VIRTUS Training.
Life Skills Instructor
Volunteers are needed to teach Life Skills classes to parents on Wednesday evenings from 7-8pm. We need your help to teach them about financial literacy topics such as IT and PC''s, banking, debt and credit management, household budgeting, insurance, investing, etc. Volunteers are also needed to teach parenting, cooking and meal planning.
Driver - Manassas Hub
Join a team of volunteer drivers dedicated to ending food insecurity in the Diocese. Help is needed to deliver food from our Manassas Warehouse to area food pantries. Weekday, and Weekend opportunities are available with flexible hours. Use of CCDA vehicles requires driver record check, but no special license. Help ensure that food is delivered where it is needed most.Training covers:Background checkDMV Record Review

Provide a Hot Meal
Residents at Christ House are in need of a hot, and hearty meal during this difficult time. If you are able to provide a hearty and hot NON PASTA meal for 15 men, they would be grateful. Volunteers are urged to sign up on our calendar to avoid duplications. Thank you for your generosity!

Food Rescue Drivers
Volunteers are needed to help fight Food Insecurity and prevent food waste by volunteering to rescue food from local grocery stores. The volunteer is requested to load up their personal vehicle, and return food to the Manassas Warehouse for distribution to the hungry.
