Volunteer Job Mentor - Manassas

Overview //

Support the Workforce Development program as Volunteer Job Mentor! The Volunteer Job Mentor will assist our students enrolled in our GED prepartation, child care, customer service, computer and career courses. The Volunteer Job Mentor will work one-on-one with clients to help them navigate the job search cycle by assiting with job applications, resumes, cover letters, and mock interviews.

Must commit to 2 hours per week with a fixed schedule (preferred Monday's from 10AM-12PM or Monday's from 5:30- 7:30PM), plus an additional 2-3 hours per week with a flexible schedule for one-on-one mentoring (off location or remote work possible).

Welcome Home Re-Entry Mentor

Overview //

Serve as a role model and guide for a formerly incarcerated/recently released who is in the Diocese of Arlington in order to help the ex-offender successfully return to society, avoid behavior which will result in repeat incarceration. And provide spiritual support and connect them with a faith community.

TRAINING: Initial pre-service training provided by CCDA required. Additional in-service training is provided on an ongoing basis.

-Background Check, Privacy Training, Mentoring Training provided.

TIME COMMITMENT:

1. Attend volunteer pre-service training (7.5 hours) and ongoing in-service trainings.

2. At least four hours a month for six months for volunteer assignment.

3. Fifteen minutes per month to submit a progress report.

Data Manager

Overview //

Help out in a crucial area of the clinic! Assist with the volunteer database, manage data and statistics, and monitor volunteer requests and registrations. Experience working with a database system and Microsoft Office Suite very helpful.

Must be available during one-half workday during the work week between 9 am and 4 pm.

Training provided.
Background check required.

Receptionist

Overview //

Looking to give back to the community and serve people from many different walks of life? Help serve those that are uninsured/under insured in western Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park area and volunteer for our Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic in Manassas as a receptionist!

2.5 hour and 4 hour volunteer shifts.
Bilingual is a plus.

GED Intructors - Manassas

Overview //

Help your immigrant and refugee neighbors earn their GEDs! Math and English GED instructors are needed in Manassas. Classes will be held on Monday's and Wednesday's from 9AM- 12PM and in the evenings from 6:30PM-9:30PM.
The class will begin on Monday, August 29th and end on Wednesday, November 7th. The ideal candidate will have some background in teaching (volunteer or paid) and commit to one class per week for the whole semester. You will recieve ample curriculum, resources, training, professional development, and additional support from Hogar staff thoughout the semester. Do you know someone who would want to teach as well? Prayer Warrior

Overview //

We need people who are committed to praying for at least one hour per week for the clinic, those we serve and for their intentions.

-Intentions (anonymous) will be sent out to those on our prayer team weekly.
-Commit one hour of adoration for God's strength and healing to reach those we serve at our clinic.
-Dedicate an hour of prayer and reflection for those we serve and for those who serve at our clinic.
-Pray a rosary with your family (since there is a group that could count as an hour donated by you family.)

Prayer warriors have a heart for God, a heart for prayer, a heart for people, and a heart for Christ's church. Therefore, we pray continually and trust that God answers each prayer according to His perfect will and in His perfect timing.
