VA Refugee Student Achievement Project needs your help!As the VRSAP Assistant, you can make a difference in a child's life while changing yours in the process. Spend time with our newly arrived families and support children to help them thrive in our schools. Migration Services - Office Assistant - Alexandria
Immediate help is needed to support our Migration and Refugee Services Offices. We need volunteers to be warm and welcoming faces to those seeking information and help daily between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday. We also need help with various office tasks associated with assisting people to become self-sufficient and working alongside staff. This may include receiving donations and organizing information for staff and Case Workers, Employment Specialists, Housing Specialists, School Liaisons, Education Workforce Development (Spanish speaking a must), Drivers (some extra trainings and validation required), Special groups, and many more opportunities. If you speak Spanish, Dari, Pashto, and or Farsi would be wonderful but not required.

This opportunity is an ON-CALL TYPE OF EVENT. We often put pleas out in the middle of the week for help needed to deliver supplies or help with a clothing distribution when we get large donations and limited storage.We often need to organize our donations and make them ready to distribute to our refugee clients. If you can only help now and then, this might be your position!We often have on-call opportunities to help us with food and clothing distributions. If you are interested in helping with Driving - there is added training. We also need strong backs to help with picking up donated furniture. Schedules are based on your availability. Drivers needed! Staff urgently need your help to deliver baby supplies, papers requiring signatures, small items, furniture, and some clients to appointments. Our staff is spending most of their time delivering supplies and is looking for some help to free up time to provide direct support to our clients.May drive personal vehicle or agency vehicle. Driving authorization is required. CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF THE DIOCESE OF ARLINGTON THE BORDER IS EVERYWHERE (TBIE) INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION (Manassas Office)BENEFITS AND GOALS:Through one-on-one client interaction, learn about the systemic challenges/opportunities clients encounterLearn about services available to clients upon arrival; gain direct experience in helping TBIE clients navigate community resourcesWork under experienced staff to gain an understanding of cases from open to closurePOSITION SUMMARY:The Border is Everywhere asylum services focuses on family reunification and assistance to the most vulnerable asylum seekers. The intern supports the needs of individuals and families in deportation proceedings or at risk of deportation. The intern works with individuals and families to connect to resources including but not limited to housing, food, clothing, healthcare and mental health services. Warehouse Volunteer - Migration Services
Warehouse volunteers are essential to the success of our newly arrived families. They help with the initial set up of new homes for families so that they can feel welcome in their new community. This Position is a vital way to give back to the community. There are some prerequisites and you must be able to qualify as a driver for the organization.
