Senior Center Kitchen Helper (Breakfast and Lunch)

Overview //

We are looking for people interested in helping serve food! St. Martin de Porres Senior Center provides continental breakfast and a nutritious hot lunch to seniors. The senior center serves hot drinks, bread, cereal (both hot and cold) and pastries in the morning. During lunch, we prepare trays, serve meals to the senior, and clean the kitchen after lunch. Volunteers, who are interested in serving food to the seniors, please email us to specify if you are available to help with breakfast, lunch, or both! Once you sign up, volunteers must complete food service training, provided by the center, before serving in the kitchen.

We are looking for nurses who are interested in providing blood pressure checks and educational presentations on health topics, infectious diseases, and updates. While administrating blood pressure checks, seniors may ask questions about medical problems or conditions. This opportunity is available for nursing students/graduates 21 years or older. Welcome Desk Host for Senior Center

We are seeking friendly, patient, and outgoing individuals that like doing light administrative work to be our Front Desk Receptionist! You will greet seniors and help them check-in for the day, while also recording activity stats and picking up phone calls. The seniors love playing board games, card games, Wii bowling, team games, Bingo, one-on-one games as examples, and are always ready to learn new activities. Games are available at the center, but if you want to bring in a new game that is good too. A binder is available with how to guides on how to play games that are available in the center. Staff is also available to do refreshers on how to play games/teach how to play the game.

Mentors Needed! MRS is dedicated to providing quality services in helping newly arrived families thrive in their new home country by providing relief, protection, and resettlement services for refugees and victims of oppression or violent conflict through immigration services, housing support, employment services, job readiness training, education, and other services.

We need mentors to help in two areas:

1. Job search support help migrants prepare for job interviews and placement through skill development, resume prep, interview skills, and job search strategies. Looking for one-to-one job coaches.

2. Youth mentors or tutors help young adults (ages 15-24) with tutoring, college prep, navigating college and issues specific to the age group. Mentors should be aged 21 or older. Drivers Needed to help refugees - Across the Diocese

Drivers needed!

MRS is dedicated to providing quality services in helping newly arrived families thrive in their new home country by providing relief, protection, and resettlement services for refugees and victims of oppression or violent conflict through employment services, job readiness training, adult education, and immigration services, US healthcare navigation, youth services, and many more state and federal programs. Help current staff assist and manage individuals' or families' social and emotional needs. Tasks may include drafting case studies, performing initial client assessments, and creating summaries and recommendations.

Staff urgently need your help delivering baby supplies, papers requiring signatures, small items, furniture, and some clients to appointments. Our staff spends most of their time delivering supplies and is looking for help to free up time to provide direct support to our clients.

May drive personal vehicle or agency vehicle.
Driving authorization is required. A valid Driver's license and three years of driving history are necessary.

Child Care Volunteers

Christ House Evening Meal Group Member Registration

Thank you for joining our mission to feed the hungry at Christ House. Volunteer groups have been providing hot meals to our Christ House community for over 40 years. Each evening we serve approximately 50 dinner guests including residents. Meals are distributed TOGO from 5 PM to 5:30 PM.

This registration is for group members committed to providing 60 hot meals. To volunteer, please complete the following steps:

St. Lucy's Creation Crates

The name Lucy means light, a reminder that growth-like produce-requires care, nourishment, and hope. The St. Lucy''s Creation Crates, a service initiative of Catholic Charities Diocese of Arlington St. Lucy Food Project, provides fresh fruits and vegetables to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. This project offers a meaningful way to serve the community, whether you're seeking service hours or simply wish to make a positive impact. Your support aids in our mission of feeding the hungry and nourishing the soul! Thank you for bringing the light of Christ to those in need.

Note: We cannot accept these projects for any court-mandated service hours.

Ball Ambassador for our 2026 Ball "United in Faith and Love"

Overview //

Seeking volunteers to assist at the 44th Annual Catholic Charities Ball, on Friday evening, February 06, 2026--a beautiful, elegant evening whose primary purpose is to celebrate the work of Catholic Charities and raise funds to serve vulnerable men, women, children and families who need our care. Advanced Training will be provided as well as a light dinner on the evening of the ball. This is a formal event, and business dress is required.
